We saved our pennies, took out a mortgage, purchased the property, and began re-modeling the house. Our first worship service at our new home was held on Pentecost Sunday, June 3, 1930. The brickwork delineating the front porch of that original building has been preserved behind the present sanctuary.
We struggled, as did the rest of the country, during the Depression, but by 1942 we began a "Buy a Brick" campaign to raise money for a permanent church building. In addition, during the war years, St. Paul sponsored a Thursday evening social night for soldiers at the USO. By 1942, our membership has grown to 181 members.

What a wonderful confirmation class!
The confirmation class had a wonderful day on Reformation Sunday, October 30th. After a moving serv ice, a cake and other goodies were enjoyed by the guests and confirmands. This years class included
Our Las Posadas (Mexican Christmas Celebration) was held on December 18th, was again a huge success. The weather was perfect this year; the food was good and plentiful. We had the privilege of caroling and asking for a room at five homes all in the same block, and best of all, about 40+ people enjoyed the great fellowship. A few members from the Presbyterian Church joined us as well. It's a wonderful way to stop the busyness and remember the true meaning of Christmas - next year put this on your calendar of things to do.
We've had this celebration for three years now and each year it appears to become bigger and better. Many thanks to those who contributed time or donations - especially our Sunday School Staff. Carol Moberg
